SSI designs all fine bubble diffusers, coarse bubble diffusers and MBBR’s to be cost-competitive. In addition, they should also be easy to install and provide the best efficiency and durability in the marketplace.
The single mold body allows SSI to offer a lower price point per diffuser while still including our proven EPDM membranes. The single mold design does not allow for membrane replacement, however given its low initial cost the entire diffuser is easily replaceable.

Coarse bubble diffusers eliminate clogging in wastewater systems while maximizing airflow and mixing capabilities. Operators often use these as alternative methods to fine bubble diffusers.

Patented Quick Threaded Saddles mount on nominal 4″ or 3″ OD pipe. They allow retrofit of 12″ to 9″ discs without changing the piping system.
Quick Connect Saddles are made of polypropylene, and install into a 5/8” (16 mm) hole.
Grommets are available for round plastic or square pipes in US or Metric dimensions. Installation is simple.
Multiple sizes are available based on pipe wall thickness. Grommets install into a 1-1/4” (32 mm) chamfered hole.
Positive locking bolted stainless steel couplings are suitable for drop pipes, stainless joints, and for all tube diffuser piping systems to restrict header pipe rotation.
Membranes from SSI feature cutting-edge materials such as:
EPDM: EPDM membranes have a standard cure and low plasticizer content. They can feature 1mm or 2mm perforations depending on aeration needs.
fEPDM: A significant additional benefit of fEPDM membranes is that the entire outer surface area of the membrane is protected. This proprietary process also treats and protects the inner slits! Per independent testing by Akron Rubber Development Labs, both PTFE and fEPDM.
PTFE: SSI can coat EPDM membranes with PTFE to provide protection from chemicals and surface fouling. Adding this coating reduces plasticizer loss and creep.
Silicone: Silicone offers high temp resistance, and is an inorganic material, which may respond differently than an organic (EPDM) membrane in service.
Polyurethane: Urethane is a robust material, which can be useful for some industrial projects.
